In compliance with Federal AHERA Regulations, the Millard County School District has had its school buildings inspected for asbestos. Asbestos is a cancer causing substance that can lead to Mesothelioma, Asbestosis, Lung Cancer, and some Gastro Intestinal Cancers. The Millard School District is required to notify building occupants and/or their legal guardians of those inspections and other activities regarding asbestos. Where asbestos is found to be hazardous (in poor condition), it has either been repaired or removed.

A Management Plan is in place in each respective school detailing actions dealing with asbestos. This Management Plan is available in each school’s office for public viewing during regular school hours.

Most of the asbestos has been removed or is scheduled to be removed.

Reinspection for asbestos must occur no less than every three years with periodic surveillance on asbestos containing materials that are still in place every three months.

Should there be any questions from patrons of the Millard School District, please contact the Superintendent of Schools, at the Millard School District Office, 285 East 450 North, Delta, Utah. Telephone (435) 864-1000.
