Welcome to Delta Early Childhood Center
Delta Early Childhood Center is located at 450 South Center Street in Delta, Utah. DECC was originally built in 1982 to accommodate the growth in population due to the construction of the Intermountain Power Plant. The new school, Delta South Elementary, was finished in time for the 1983-84 school year and housed grades K-4. In 1989 the fifth grade was moved back to the elementary school. Due to declining enrollment figures, Delta South Elementary was closed in 2009. Delta Early Childhood Center was created using two thirds of the South Elementary building to accommodate pre-kindergarten and kindergarten Students in West Millard County.
Currently Delta Early Childhood Center employs 27 people serving 190 students in pre-school, and kindergarten. Our students come from Delta, Oak City, Lynndyl, Leamington, Hinckley, Abraham, Sutherland, Oasis, Deseret, Sugarville, and Woodrow. The Head Start program is also located at DECC.
Our role at DECC is to help and assist each individual student to achieve academic success and to have a positive experience as they begin their formal education. We want to do all that we can here to help each child develop a love of learning and basic skills for continued educational success. We have great teachers who understand the learning process and have years of experience working with young learners. We are confident that each of our students receives the finest instruction possible.
