Announcement of Directors for Secondary and Elementary/Special Education Programs starting the 2025-2026 School Year

Superintendent Hunter and the Millard County School District are proud to announce the hiring of Becky Callister as the MCSD Secondary Director and Sheila Sheriff as the MCSD Elementary and Special Education Director. We are beyond excited to welcome these outstanding leaders to our team. Together they bring almost 5 decades of educational experience. Their dedication, expertise, and passion for student success will be invaluable as we continue to strengthen and enhance our schools. We look forward to the positive impact they will have on our students, staff, and community.

Becky Callister – Director of Secondary Programs

I am honored to return to Millard School District as the Director of Secondary Programs. With 27 years of experience in education, I am deeply committed to supporting students, educators, and the entire Millard County community.

Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of serving in a variety of roles, each of which has strengthened my perspective and deepened my passion for education. Teaching at the elementary, secondary, and special education levels provided me with firsthand experience in meeting the diverse needs of students at every stage of their academic journey. My time as a school counselor and principal has broadened my understanding of student development, instructional strategies, and school operations.

Most recently, as the Career and Technical Education Director at Snow College, I have gained valuable insights into student pathways, workforce development, and career readiness. These experiences have strengthened my commitment to creating programs that empower students to confidently pursue their goals beyond high school.

Above all, I value people. I believe that strong relationships are at the heart of a thriving educational community, and I am committed to fostering an environment where students, teachers, and staff feel heard, supported, and inspired. I am excited to contribute to the continued excellence of Millard School District.

Becky and her husband Brett have four children, Kasen, Lexi Davies, Paityn Maynard, and Raygan, who is a junior.  Their son-in-laws are Caden Davies and Sterling Maynard.

Sheila Sheriff – Director of Elementary & Special Education Programs

I started my teaching journey with Millard School District in 1995. I have served in many positions over the last 20 plus years from being a Preschool Special Education teacher to serving as a 4th Grade teacher, a Youth in Custody teacher, a school counselor at Fillmore Elementary and Fillmore Middle, and most recently as the Principal of Fillmore Elementary where I have been the past six years.  Each position that I held was unique and provided me with experiences and growth opportunities for which I am forever grateful. I have had the privilege of working and learning from amazing teachers, staff, students, and parents on the east side of the county. Although it will be difficult to leave my current position, I look forward to having the opportunity to continue serving our school district on a larger scale and becoming a support to all schools in our district. I have a deep passion for education and seeing educators and students achieve their highest potential.

I am married to Marshall Sheriff who has also been a coach and educator in our district since 1994. Together, we have two wonderful children, a daughter Shelby Bullock, married to Dakota Bullock and a son, Slade Sheriff. I am also a proud grandmother to two grandkids, Bronx, and Baylor Bullock who both attend Fillmore Elementary. I appreciate the love and support that my family has given me throughout my career.

I am so excited, and I look forward to working with the best leaders, educators, paraprofessionals, staff, students, and parents in the state!!
